Two weeks ago, the Mobile World Congress took place in Barcelona. The annual MWC is the largest and most influential mobile communications trade fair in the world, where the leading mobile communications companies present their latest products. Our Cellular Solutions team also took the opportunity to find out about the latest developments in the mobile market.

In three eventful days full of exciting discussions, our team was able to exchange ideas with old and new partners about the potential of private mobile networks. Topics such as 5G, virtualization, campus networks, localization, SaaS, and IoT are currently revolutionizing the mobile industry and we are staying on top of the game for our customers.

At MWC 2023, our team strengthened its international network of partners and suppliers. Now our colleagues are looking forward to the upcoming challenge of translating the newly gained insights and ideas into efficient customer solutions.

In an interview, Wojciech Lacz, CIO of AccorInvest, talks about the digital transformation at AccorInvest and how it relates to ESG goals.

Ahmed Disokey, VP Technology at AccorInvest, and our CEO Emilio Dragas also talk about the great potential for the hotel industry of moving completely to the cloud and share their insights on our collaboration.

Together we initiated the project and now present how the solution, provides unique access to industry-leading technologies. Not only does it improve the sustainability, efficiency and resilience of the hotel portfolio, but it also provides the flexibility to adapt very quickly to the market and the needs of the guests.
Technology Magazine, Sustainability Magazine and FinTech Magazine have all published exclusive articles this month reporting on this major advance for the hotel industry and showcasing our collaboration.
We would like to thank everyone involved for the great collaboration. A very special thank you to our long-time partner AccorInvest for the trust in our solutions as well as the always great cooperation. We look forward to being a part of your digital transformation and to continue to accompany you.

Visiting CES has become a New Year’s tradition. From 5-8 January, we took a look into the future together with our customers and were inspired by technical innovations at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The motto of this year’s CES was “Human Security” and, as one of the most important IT trade fairs in the industry, it provides inspiration around the use of augmented reality, IoT applications, the latest in display technologies, and even olfactory sensory perceptions in the Metaverse. We look back on exciting and eventful days and are already looking forward to next year.

As main sponsor we supported the traditional horn sled competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen again this year.
This year the race took place for the 52nd time. Here, participants race down the mountain in teams of four at speeds of up to 100 km/h on the specially made sleds. With the support of a professional driver, 3 of our employees took part again this year. With a total of 68 groups, the m3connect sled was able to finish the fast-paced ride with a good 23rd place. We are very proud of our team and would like to thank the Hornschlittenverein Partenkirchen e.V.  for the great organization and hospitality.

The Motel One Group is expanding into the U.S. and last month opened its first location in New York under the new lifestyle brand: The Cloud One Hotels. The hotel is located in downtown Manhattan directly adjacent to the World Trade Center complex, offering a central location with numerous transportation links. The new location features 326 rooms on 28 floors including two rooftop suites with views of the New York skyline.
We are very pleased that Motel One once again trusted us with the IT planning for the new location and that we were able to support the hotel group during the construction process. In addition to optimizing WLAN coverage, we have already successfully implemented our SD-WAN solution at the new location and built a server rack for optimal cabling organization. To ensure maximum data security, we also built a customized network concept for the customer as a cabling supplier. In addition, we set up all systems redundantly and implemented a backup solution.
The Motel One Group is the first German hotel group to make the leap to the USA. We are pleased about the long-standing partnership as well as the trustful cooperation and wish the Motel One Group continued success.

Already in 2019, we were able to win the ridepooling service provider MOIA as a customer for us. MOIA is a subsidiary of VW founded in December 2016, which bundles ride requests from different people via app and thus makes an important contribution to the traffic turnaround. Using a dynamic algorithm, the ride requests of passengers whose starting and destination positions are in similar directions are collected and assigned to an existing ride in a fraction of a second. The development of on-demand mobility services by our customer MOIA is helping to make people’s lives in urban areas more livable, flexible and safe. As an Internet service provider, our task at MOIA was to integrate the customer WLAN and operate it in compliance with the legal requirement.

MOIA now has more than 550 vehicles in its fleet, which are in use in both Hamburg and Hanover. We are pleased about the increasing number of vehicles used by MOIA and about the successful partnership for the benefit of urban digitization.

We are very pleased that our team has grown by 13 more employees during the last three months. In addition to our new trainees Alessio Arandelovic, Adi Damadzic, Nicolas Steinhörster and Hanan Alrifaie, Alexander Tegtmeier, Stefan Baumann, Adrian Groth, Mohamed Aziz Zarrouk, Nora Wester, Mohamad Hasan Baloulli, Mario Harraß, Leonard Dechamps and Sascha Hoch now joined our team.

They support us in the areas of Service Operations, Sales Management, Account Management, Procurement, Deployment and Software Development.

We are pleased that you have chosen m3connect and wish you a good start as well as much success and joy in our team!

In view of current demographic developments and the rising demand for care services, both large and small care providers are facing particular challenges today. At the specialist conference “Construction and Operation of Senior Citizens’ and Nursing Facilities” on December 1 and 2 in Munich, developers, sponsors and operators will come together to discuss the current trends in the design, new construction, conversion, renovation and operation of senior citizens’ and nursing facilities and illustrate them with best practice examples from Germany and abroad.
Our expert Ralf Ander will also be on site to report on what a high-performance network infrastructure looks like in the healthcare sector. As the basis for digitization in care, a secure and stable IT infrastructure is a basic requirement for the integration of all digital services.
We are looking forward to the exchange and to present our solutions and to contribute to the development of innovative care forms and concepts.
More information about the event is available here.

To implement its digitization strategy, the five-star Sofitel Munich Bayerpost hotel managed by our partner AccorInvest once again relied on our solutions. The customer’s wish was for a total solution that would enhance the guest experience with a new, integrated TV portal and unite all IT-based hospitality services in a single network. Following the design and development of an overall solution tailored to the customer’s requirements, the new system was implemented during ongoing hotel operations. This included 457 end devices for IP-TV, new headends for satellite reception and the integration of the TV portal into the conn4 system.

The trade magazine Superior Hotel, which is published by GW Verlag, features a practical report on our successful implementation at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost. In it, you can learn how we supported Sofitel with the technical equipment, how our overall solution appears on the guests’ end devices, and how a new quality of digital communication is now made possible with the replacement of the TV system and the networking with the proven WLAN platform. You can read the entire practical report here.

We are pleased about the publication in Superior Hotel and about the further cooperation with the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost.

In February, the Motel One hotel group started its expansion in Scandinavia with its new hotel in Denmark. There, they opened their first new hotel location with Motel One Copenhagen. This was an existing hotel that the hotel group had taken over. We transferred the existing network infrastructure to us and integrated it into the new international SD-WAN concept. We now support the hotel with our all-round service. In addition, the hotel also uses our conn4 platform via which it provides its guests with WLAN access.
We are very pleased to have been able to accompany Motel One in its expansion to Scandinavia from the very beginning and are looking forward to the next projects.
