From 16-18 September, our team pitched its tents for the third time for a joint IT camping weekend. This year at the campsite in Dedenborn surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Eifel. At this quiet and undisturbed spot by the stream, our employees spent the entire weekend in a cosy atmosphere with delicious food from the grill, fun games and good music around the campfire.

The idea of the IT camp came about almost three years ago thanks to the commitment of our developers. Our technical departments make up the majority of our staff. Every day, they take care of the development of all the necessary tools to offer our customers tailor-made product solutions, to provide them with optimal support in technical challenges and to drive the further development of the company. Since close internal networking is always of great importance, the desire for a cosy but at the same time adventurous “come together” within the framework of a camping trip arose. The original idea quickly developed into a fixed part of our annual planning, and our other departments joined in. For our camping-loving colleagues, the IT camp has established itself as an annual highlight and has since become indispensable.

As a company, we naturally like to support the strong team spirit of our employees and are always happy to spend eventful hours outside of our offices, where we can learn, laugh and also simply switch off together. This is especially easy for us in nature!

On 23 September, the starting signal was given for the ninth Aachener Firmenlauf in Oberforstbach. For more than a decade now, the traditional running event has invited regional companies to compete with other companies in a sporting event.

For us taking part in the Aachener Firmenlauf has become a company tradition. This year, our colleagues Claudia, Jennifer, Katharina, Philipp, Robin, Erik, Marvin, Lars, Philipp, Daniel and David took part in the race for a good cause and mastered both the short and medium distances.

The rest of our colleagues supported the runners at our meeting point in front of the starting line with plenty of snacks, drinks and loud cheers. We are proud of our team, our cohesion and the challenges we master together – whether at work or while running! We rounded off the successful afternoon with cool drinks at the barbecue and were able to toast once again to a successful team event and the great achievements of our runners!

This year’s Aachener Firmenlauf enjoyed a total of 6,000 runners from 400 companies who took to the starting line for a good cause. This supports various projects in the region that promote health, exercise, prevention, integration and non-violence. Thus, the event is not only fun for us, but also a meaningful cause in which we are happy to participate and which we will certainly support again next year under the motto “Running wireless by m3connect”!

At the Hotel-Restaurant Schwanen in Metzingen we were able to implement a very special project together with ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH. The hotel of the Wetzel family, which features 71 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a conference area, is currently renewing its network infrastructure with the aim of increasing its own hygiene standards. For this purpose, together with Assa Abloy, the manufacturer and supplier of locking solutions and security systems, we implemented a door locking system that allows guests contactless access to the guest rooms via app.

m3connect of course provided the necessary network infrastructure and the integration of the door locking system. Hardware from the renowned manufacturer Ruckus was used and the entire building was equipped with Ruckus R550 access points. The access points not only feature the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology (802.11 ax), but also an integrated IoT module, which allowed the door locking system to be directly and easily integrated into the network.

The Hotel-Restaurant Schwanen has been relying on m3connect’s services in the field of network infrastructure, WiFi and digital signage for many years. That means they benefit from great cost efficiency, operational stability and, above all, flexibility. We would like to thank the Wetzel family for their trust and look forward to further projects in the future.

For the second year in a row people rocked for a good cause in Rott, Germany!

On August 30th and 31st almost 3,500 festival visitors sang and danced to great tribute bands in warm summer temperatures. This year Living Theory, Bounce, Reggatta de Blanc, Marley’s Ghost, René Innemee & The Revival Band and Help! hit the stage and let the fans revel in memories of their childhood and youth.

As last year the revenues from the ticket sale will be donated completely to charities. To make this possible, the festival relies – besides us as main sponsor – on two other big sponsors Bauer+Kirch and e-Dynamics, as well as certain other supporters from the region.

Prior to the festival, every aid organization and institution could apply for a place on the donation list.

We are very happy to be able to support this fantastic festival and hope for perfect weather for the next festival in 2020!
